drm component update fails every time

i got a drm wma file from walmart downloads so i tried playing it with wmp9 (which walmart recommends) and a message popped up saying that i need to update my drm components so i clicked ok. it said it was starting individualization but then a message pops up that says "unknown error". microsoft has no info on this error on their website. this really is a frustration to me!!

Try using WMP10 or 11?
Or another audio player, such as Winamp or VLC?

Have someone you know DLoad and burn a copy of VLC Media Player. It plays everything for me...

it says "protected" and doesn't play it either.

is it something like: you have to have a drm media player to copy the drm wma files to your device in order to listen to them on a device?

are drm component upgrades just the windows media player or is it windows?

well vlc doesn't play it. I tried the file with my dad's computer and it plays at least, however, it won't let me put it on my portable device.

Why anyone would put a DRM file on their machine to begin with is beyond me...
