computer keeps rebooting+has weird progs

OK..A friends computer restarts every few minutes and the following programs/applications are on his hard drive:

-Adnetwork4_10gh04sd
-EDow_AS2
-EXACTADVERTISING
-ezStub
-iexplerer
-wexplerer
-ezPopStub.exe
-EZSTUB.EXE-17641339.pf
-EZSTUB.EXE-1E7F99C5.pf
-linkstub
-wmpstub

Install the programs recommended and scan for spyware, trojans and viruses.

Yeah, that would be my advice normally too but in this case reinstall your computer.

Does your computer say, the administrator want you to shut down the PC bla bla bla save documents the computer will reboot in variable amount of seconds...
If so thats the blaster virus!

When your in your clean installation install programs like:

Sygate Personal Firewall
Nortan Antivirus 2005
Adaware
Spybot

Should you format and not take the proper precautions, these problems will simply occur again.

What about the same problem with Windows 98SE? ???I have a P-lll 600 and as soon as I let it sit for more than 6 or 7 minutes, it restarts. I have ran a current Virus scan and ran a current ad-aware. All results were normal.

Clean the computer case's interior and see if anything is obstructing the fans from doing their work properly.

I thought that it might be a tempreture problem too, I checked the cpu and case temp, both were well below 85 degrees F.

0 usb devices on this one. Power settings are all set at never. Could it be a power supply? It has done it with completely different HDD's in it. That's why I think it might be a hardware issue. Thanks for all you help too.
