Question about upgrade
« on: February 22, 2007, 08:22:51 AM »
I currently have a 3.2 pent 4 prescott with 2 gig ram and a ATI x850 pro AGP. I want to upgrade and only have about $400 to do so. Is buying a new video card ... say a ATI x1950 PRO 512 a good investment or should i invest in a new MB with pci and a lesser vid card?

What do you use that PC for?
I guess it's gaming.
What games?
My opinion would be to get a new motherboard with, say, a 7600, and then buy another 7600 for SLI when you need/want it.
If you keep that motherboard, you will be stuck with AGP - you'll need a new motherboard sooner or later, so why not now.
Just my $0.02.
