ftp log in (doesn't want to log in) why?

I want to log into the ftp account. The problem is that I can log on some other ftp accounts but that one in particular doesn't want to log in.
Someone told me that there could be a problem with the windows xp. Can you help me fix that problem?

Can you provide a little more information?  What FTP program do you use?  What server are you trying to access?  Is it possible that you need a password?

yes does need a pasword and I just open the ftp through Internet Explore

I recommend trying Flash FXP. Does it timeout? Are you sure you are typing in the right address, user, and password?

I think a good free client is SmartFTP.  Just try a few different ones and see what you like best.  As for this server you're trying to access...have you been able to access it in the past?  Also, have you contacted whoever runs it?

There could be a problem on your end, there could be a problem on their end, or your password might not be valid anymore.  It's best to provide us with as much information as you can.  And it might help if we had some information about this place you're having trouble with.

I have been letting this to time out and now I was able to put the pasword but is still searching and I have a blank page. I will let to time out the page to see what happens.
I did everything was possible with this ftp account.
