If you build it yourself you'll save some cash, that's what I'd do.
What's your budget?
That motherboard isn't very upgradeable, I'd change it if I were you.
And that's a nice looking tower, but seems quite expensive to me.

$1000 I guess then, in dollars that is.
I really can't advise on prices etc, I'm in the UK you see.
But I'll look around and help as I am able.

I must say that's an excellent deal.
However, there is no upgrade path for the CPU, should you need more power.
Just be aware of that.
There is also only one PCI-E slot, so no SLI or Crossfire upgrades.
Nice kit though, as long as you don't mind those shortcomings.
The rest of the cash you want to spend could go on graphics card, RAM, optical drives, HDD(s) and so on, everything else you need.
Nice deal, but be aware of the limited upgrade paths.

your absolutely right on the upgrading thing....

I just got this email this morning and saw the type cpu he was going after and thought this might even be better,    get the ram/ better gpu etc...

still,   I believe this might be the "first"   decent  buy from  tiger I've seen that didn't  involve  those stupid  rebates!!!   :'(

It's a good CPU, just not on a par with the latest Core 2 series.
It will work out as a good deal however.

:in my opinion"   the  key to the upgrade thing here is your mobo*

get the best mobo for  AMD  << i guess thats what u want,  and get ok stuff for the rest.......

You will always be limited by the next "latest and greatest" thing, whether that be a graphics card adapter type, or a processor socket or whatever.

I'd never battle wits with the G-Man  on the "newer" stuff that seems to pop up every 3-6 months nowdays. ( No mater what you do  puters are just going to get more & more powerful)  I want to (slowly) build a new one myself and my strategy is going off this >   FSB       1333/1066MHz

that seems to be the best right now and I'll buy from there.
So I get the psu, either make or get a case, buy the software, and say a prayer everyday for  E6600  and  the above  bus speed mobo's to all drop in prices!!    :'(

If you get the right thing now, hopefully you won't NEED to upgrade in a few months.
