Problem loading Cosmopolitan Virtual Makeover

I am trying to load a software program.  It starts to load and then i receive the following error message:

C/Windows/System 32/msvcrt.dll is in use and cannot be installed.  Exit & retry.

All my running programs are closed when i tried to install.   Not sure what to do now.  

Any help would really be appreciated.   I have a P4 and am running XP.

Before you go to install the program, press Ctrl + Alt + Del to bring up the task manager, and close everything down except for "Explorer" and "systray".

And please don't use maroon: It's a rubbish colour. Use orange instead. You can never have too much orange!

I used Control/Alt/Delete and removed everything showing.   Still can't install this program.   Any other advice would be much appreciated!   Also, the system requirements for this program don't mention XP.   Could that be the reason it won't load?   I also rec'd a different error message:   vmo.exe has encountered a problem..............[size=13][/size]

Most older games and programs donot always function on Windows XP.

Possibly change the compatability mode to the windows version needed?
