Disappeared Pictures
« on: March 04, 2007, 06:12:43 PM »
I came home tonight and turned on my computer and all of my desktop items were blank.  I think something like this happened right before I turned it off but fixed it, some how.  The items usually have icons but they are just blank.  I cannot figure out how to get them back to normal.  I figured out how to get the "main" items back to the desktop with the pictures but I can't get the rest.  Any help would be very nice.

That looks like XP SP2.
In general, the PEBKAC.  Whether it's now or was three weeks ago, the PEBKAC.

My computer is a Gateway, Microsoft Wimdows XP Edition verson 2002.  It is Pentium 4, 3.00 GHz, 512 MB of RAM. Gateway model 2002, Home edition, Sevice Pack 2.

If I run the program, Simcity 4, and then while it's starting up I shut it down, the icons will appear.  Is there any other way?

Try and do a system restore back to a date prior to when this started happening...
Have you installed any new software/hardware lately ? ?
