Add or Remove Programs - no list
« on: March 04, 2007, 08:43:50 PM »
The Add or Remove Programs window opens but does not display a list. The message Please wait while the list is being populated... just sits there. Not sure if this is related but my Windows Explorer keeps hanging.

If you don't know the answer, it isn't a dumb question.

Go to Start/Run and type CMD and hit ENTER

At the prompt type REGSVR32 APPWIZ.CPL and hit ENTER

Try to run ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS again, if it still doesn't work try some of the regedits listed here

    Good Luck  :)

it sounds like it may be too many programs on your computer. have you tried control>alt>delete to get to your task window? see if the program is running or not responding. if it is not responding then try checking how much ram you have. use yur system tools for system like disk cleanup or/and defragment. assuming you  have windows xp
