Hi all...
I have a problem with a computer. The screen says: "overwrite" and the computer does not turn on. is it the harddrive that is causing this? how can i fix it?

We're going to need a lot more info than that.  As GX1_Man always says...

my computer is a dell optiplex desktop (pentium 4, 512 ram, 60gb HD) and it has windows xp pro. It is one year old. when i turn it on it says "overwrite" but windows does not start. it didnt have any problems before and i really dont know why this happened.
