Can't see dvd burner in MY COMPUTER
    « on: March 12, 2007, 07:04:22 PM »
    Hello,
Win XP pro, socket 939, 64 bit, 2Gs memory, 1.2GHZ AMD processor. I can't see my DVD burner in my computer. I had this problem once B4 and was directed via link to the Elder geek website which worked. So I tried the same process again to no avail. Any idea what else could be done to correct this problem? Also, if I were to right click on the drive I can see, to eject, both drive will eject at the same time.Thanking you in advance, Hennessy.

Are both drives connected to the same cable / are they set to 'cable select' or are they 'master & slave?

First Check to see if your dvd burner is registering in your bios.  Also once before i had that kind of problem but the drive itself had gone out and it wouldn't read dvds nor burn dvds or cds.
