unable to open chat portion of web cam show

I have been having trouble, for some reason I cant open up the chat portion of web cam shows, such as I friends. I was advised to down load a Java upgrade but even that didnt do the trick.  I cant open it even with a right click.  Can someone please help me, if you need more information let me know.

Did you installer the proper drivers?

I am not to literate in this area, what drivers, and probably not....please advise.....

click the link but it kept taking me out of the screen with the download link.  So I couldnt download...please help

Have you taken a look on the manufacturers website yet?

which manufacturer.....microsoft or the computer manufacturer...and if I do, what do I look for?
