Attention moderators: This may have been answered before or in the wrong forum. Sorry.

System Specs: Windows XP Home edition (With Sp2)
                        305GB Memory
                        1800 CPU

Basically the situation i have is in the title. I was finishing off a project for my History homework and i fell asleep with the computer on. I woke up and  the computer was off and  was in bed. My little brother came in booted it up and yelled at me that 'Summinks wong.' Groggily i sat up and it said
c:/windows/system corrupt or missing
I inserted my windows xp disk and tried everything. From repair to backup. It doesn't work and i am getting depressed. Plz help. I am working from my parents computer.

p.s Sorry for messy writing -  i have Aspergus syndrome
p.p.s I'll do one of those karma thingies/gys/gyies

Thank you in advance.

It would help if we had the complete error message.

Are you sure the error message you are relaying to us is complete and correct?

If System Restore is enabled have you tried a System Restore from the Command Prompt in Safe Mode ???

One good deed is worth more than a year of good intentions.
