« on: April 06, 2007, 06:56:58 AM »
Hi guys

I gotta admitt i never thought id be brought to my knees over something so simple. Ive done it a million times before but never have i come across this problem and its whooping my *censored*. i aint got a clue on what to do.

Basically im trying to format my HD. I got the windows XP disc in the drive and i restart the computer. then on startup it gives me the option of booting from the disc just like normal. The thing is when my computers restarting all of the usb devices shut down. My keyboard is usb, and when it says press any key to boot from cd i cant do anything.

please anyone, any suggestions or ideas be much appreciated. thnx

If I remember from the back of my mind...

USB legacy support enabled in BIOS by any chance?

Try using a PS/2 keyboard for installing, then replace it with your USB one.
