no video with Windows NT 4.0
« on: April 10, 2007, 01:46:50 PM »
I dusted off an old CPU of mine and tried powering it up.  I can't get any video, and I believe the computer is not booting up anyways, 'cause I'm getting no sound from the speakers.  When I first turn on the computer, the monitor recognizes it and turns "green", but after approx. 3 seconds it goes "amber".  Same happens when I turn the computer off.  I only want to use this computer to find some old files and screw around with it, but can't get it to provide video, or apparently boot up.  Thanks for any help.

Possibly some details on the hardware would be helpful?

If you can't get the thing running, you could remove the hard drive from it and install the drive in another computer as a slave drive to retrieve those files you want.
