Computer Launches explorer at boot up
« on: April 12, 2007, 05:43:58 AM »
I recently downloaded an demom software program from a website. After a few days I uninstalled the program because it wasn't what I wanted. However, everytime I boot up my computer now, the internet explorer turns on and goes to the company's website to purchase the software. Also, a message box is displayed stating the Demonstration Software has expired and must now be purchased.  I have tried to quarantine every cookie. Is it in the Autoexec.bat file? Where is it launching from? I cannot find it. >:(

What OS are you using?
What web site is this?  And what's the program's name?
What protection do you have?  Have you updated your virus defintions and run a scan in Safe Mode?

Do that if you haven't already done so.  Also, download CCleaner (install without Yahoo! toolbar) and clean up with that.
