My computer is having a problem and we have un ticked most items in services and startup within msconfig...we wish to access device manager without turning on everything.  can someone please advise which box or boxes to tick....thanks in advance.....

You can not access the device manager from msconfig.exe.

Accessing device manager with not turn on anything.  You can access it by right clicking on My Computer and selecting Properties.  Click the Hardware tab and then the Device Manager button.
