It doesn't state anything about the whereabouts and name of your soundcard. You're going to have to use a program such as System Information for Windows

You may be able to find the drivers you need on one of the CD's that came with the PC, albeit not the latest version thereof.

Somehow a Google search for your mainboard type only resulted in a post you made on another forum...

The information you gave me didn't tell me much,  we need a name.

oes the mainboard you have come with onboard sound and if yes, are you using it or did you add an expansion card?

By the way, to make absolutely sure; you didn't mute anything, did you?

It would probably be swifter and easier to get a PCI soundcard...

No problem. Odd that the program couldn't tell you the name of the soundcard.. I'll have to review this tool.

If you live in the U.S. and want to try an online source for an inexpensive sound card, see  CHAINTECH AV-512 5.1 Channels PCI Interface Sound Card - Retail.  And, they have many others if you want to spend more.  I've used this particular card for about two years with Win XP and have had no problems with it.

Hurry.  Don't want that bald spot to keep expanding now, do we?  I know exactly what you mean.   :(
