    Online PC repair courses
    « on: May 07, 2007, 07:22:09 PM »

I am tired of having no mind techies drain my pockets and take advantage of me because I dont know much about my own computer and systems and all its components.

Every time I needed to get repairs I got screwed so I want to learn to fix it my self.  Can any one tell me what I should look for in a course?  Or can you recommend one I can do online?

I would be forever grateful.  TY

Hello if you want to buy a good e-Book to fix your PC go to www.jrpcrepair.com, this Website offers an e-Book for $24.95 and teaches you how to repair your own PC..
Just to let you know I'm not an affiliate of this site, is just a recommendation.

Thanks Joel I will check it out.  But I figure if I can take a course and actually fix computers I might just have a reliable job LOL

I have already gone through half the techies in my area.  Sure there are a few small towns around here but techies who know what they are doing are scarce around here.  SO taking a course would in the long run save me money if not make me money.  Ladies would feel more comfortable calling another lady instead of dealing with the fast talking techie wanna be's that we have around here.  KWIM?

You might want to try your local community college.  They're bound to offer some courses for pretty cheap.  In some cases, you can even get paid to do it.

        Check out:
        http://www.fonerbooks.com/replace.htm

See what you think of it.
As a matter of fact,  maybe some others here could do the same, and let you know if it is correct material.

I think the thing to keep in mind though, is that fixing problems is easy, once you know exactly what the problem is.    That's the trick.
Being able to assemble a PC is nice, and sure is good experience.    Being able to change parts in an existing PC, and have them work is also good experience.
But -   being able to diagnose a problem -  that's the real key.

I think experience is one of the best teachers.       And you can't rush that.
That is where the beauty of forums like this come in.     If you can accurately describe the symptoms,  you have a wide audience here.   The odds are,  somebody else has had it happen to them,  and can point you in the right direction.   :)
