why does skype crash and my wireless mouse freeze when i attempt to use skype.
im have a logitec 5000 web cam which i use with skype.i have to turn the power of to restart computer.
i am using windows xp

yes skype still crashes,and blue window appear saying windows has shut me down serious error

Well, I see you're not the only person who has experienced problems with that webcam.  See Logitech Quickcam Pro 5000 Webcam.  Note the comment there in one review, the one labeled Computer crashes, where they said I uninstalled the drivers and just plugged in the web cam and microsoft recognised it.  You might try that.

What are you using for a mic?  The one built into the webcam?

i have now been running skype for half hour and its ok so do you think its logitech 5000 causing the problem yes i used built in mic but i also have a usb mic

i just took it for granted it was skype causing the problem but skype is still running now over an hour laterso do you think its the web cam causing a conflict

Can you set the facts straight here?  Are you using skype without your webcam and not having freeze-ups?  And, you're using the USB mic?

i have been running skype for the last 2 hours with out the web cam and no crashes,i am now using usb mic ,where before it was the one built in logitech cam which must have been the root of the problem,i also read thet article and the blue screen of death is what was happening ,so i am going to put the cam in the box and take it back to the store i bought it from and get another one with less drivers    many thanks   mike

mickyh ..........  I would be contacting Logitech via Email........ about the issue .......  I have found them to be excellant as far as customer service is concerned. If I recall, there was some issue with the logitech pro 5000.
