Connecting to an online game with a proxy

Basically, I'm trying to play a free Japanese MMO. Based off the information I've gotten from  Google, it seems that I need to use a proxy to make it think I'm in Japan. But, I don't know much about proxies and I'm not sure what to do. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm running Windows XP Home SP2 and have HTTP-Tunnel and ProxyCap installed.

have your tried just port forwarding the game ports??

Unless you can find a paid proxy, you're never going to find a proxy that won't test your patience to the limit. Especially not one in Japan.
