help with installing visual studio.net 2003

i am trying to install vb.net 2003 onto my pc (amd4200 dual core - 2gb ram running on xp) when i try to install i get an error message stating that - set has determined that another program requires the computer to reboot and to attemp the install later after rebooting. i reboot but when i attempt to install again i get the same message. can ant one help on this please?

Have you installed anything lately that didn't install completely/correctly?

What OS are us using?

Tried looking up in 'msconfig' to see what's running (assuming your using XP)?
