« on: October 22, 2004, 03:13:14 AM »
Hi,

I like my desktop to look nice and pretty, how can I hide all these short cut icons from my desk top?

Thanks

Rick

Well if you don't use the shortcuts, then delete them. I have a folder on my desktop titled "shortcuts" and put all the icons in there if that's any help to you!

Desktops aren't meant to lookt pretty.  ::) I could send you a photo of myself, though..

You can set Desktop to hide shortcuts when it's in webpage mode.

Right click on the Desktop -> properties -> Desktop (Tab) -> Adjust Desktop -> Webpage tab

Follow the instructions.

With Windows XP Professional I use all transparent icons, so all you see is the description and you just have to double-click above the line, where the icon would show normally.

If you need help to remember the position of your icon layout I use Layout.zip
