Check Disk

My computer keeps asking me to do a check disk to fix various problems.
But when i do it ... it tells me that my hard drive appears to be a non-windows xp disk.

Any help would be awsome.

whats the exact error or message line?

when did this start happening?

what are your protections on this machine? anti-virus, anti-spyware etc

Started happening about 2 weeks ago
i use avg, ccleaner and ad-aware se weekly
error message is usually either a explorer.exe, firefox.exe or windows/system 321/with various letters and numbers.
OS is xp home edition with service pack 2

get avg anti-spyware free

spybot search and destroy

superantispyware

do all of your scans in safe mode

what changes if any have you made to your machine before this started?? hardware software??

I haven't done any changes my self...but i'm not the only one using it...
How do i enter safe mode? is it still  f8  during boot up?

oh do you let the check disk run through?? if so what does it report??

check disk won't run...unless i go into dos and do it
