    Crossover Cable ?

    Hi, I just like to know if i can network Windows XP Pro to Windows Home

    via crossover cable? would i need a switch? Thank you.

      If you have just 2 computers, a cross-over cable would do just fine. If there are more than 2 computers you will need a switch.

      Second point: you need to set up ips for your computers. If you have firewalls, you will need to specify rules for allowing trafic between computers.

        Well tufek1000 I suggest reading the Network FAQ written by Ch member Rob Pomeroy. Definitely a well written faq, and it will get your computers networked in no time.
