About to buy laptop with Vista. Should I be afraid?
« on: May 04, 2007, 02:10:01 PM »
I am about to purchase a laptop. Seeing as Vista is on everything now, should I be nervous? I have heard alot of negatives about this system. I am worried about my current MS OfficeXP Professional not working with this new system.  ???
thanks

Who is the manufacturer ? ?

Check to see if there is an option for XP...lots of manuf. such as Dell have caved in to demand and are still shipping XP units by request.

If you'd prefer XP, try to find one with XP.
If you can only find Vista laptops, make sure they have the correct specs to run it well.
patio and unlovedwarrior have good suggestions too - be careful to find out if your programs will run under Vista before buying it.
Support for hardware and programs is getting better all the time, but it's still buggy.
      Give it time.
