i have a Pioneer dvr- 108 (dvd/cd writer)(windows xp pro)      
For some reason the drive is not reconising any cd's, music, data or software, but it does reconise dvd's.
can anyone help please.

Should work with all types of media.

Is it brand new?  Return it for a new one.
