« on: May 13, 2007, 01:43:26 PM »
I have a Compaq windows xp sp2 home edition.
Recently i downloaded updates from the web site then realised i'm on automatic updates anyway.
Ever since i daily have a shield telling me updates available and to click to download....loads in the add/remove section and now i daren't click on the shield at all....any help on how to solve this problem and what did i do wrong anyway for it to keep happening? ::)

Well,I use windows XP with classic view.

I go to the control panel and double click on
Automatic Updates,then make my decisions.

I can't see your question beyond that.If you
choose turn off Automatic updates fine.

Otherwise choose a time and weekday to
have updates happen.

Assuming you did this recently could you
reboot in safemode and choose'Last known
Good Configuration'or, restore to an earlier
date by using restore?

You could read the below website information .

I really don't understand why you're getting updates every day. I have the same setup as you and sometimes I go two weeks or more without updates.
