NTLDR problems
« on: October 27, 2004, 06:05:55 PM »
ive been trying to install windows 2000  to my brothers computer, but I keep on getting the "NTLDR is missing, press a key to restart" error.

the 2k cd boots and it loads all the files, but when it has to restart after the 15 seconds I cant get into the actual setup screen where you enter the cd key, the ntldlr is missing error comes up.

Ive tried to format the harddrive, delete and add a new partition using fdisk, update the bios, nothing seems to work

NTLDR started causing problems when 2k was previously installed, so I figured a format would fix this problem.

Anyone help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!  ::)

I suspect the cause is #4.

I suspect you have multiple partitions and the OS is not on partition 1.  Use fdisk, delete all partitions and start over.
