Hi,
I have some recordings done by my Sony video camera. The camera writes a DVD and i can copy the data in to machine in .vob format.
My problem is the machine in which i saved the data goty crashed. The IT team of my office somehow recovered the data but the files are now not getting played in any of the software including Windows media player. It says unknown application. Some tools shows a messege of unknown encoder.
So if i understood this correctly does the software not able to know what was the encoder used ( while data recovery ) ??
I would be really thankful to you if you resolve this query for me . The data is huge ( 14 GB ) and is extremely important to me.

Hope to see your reply soon..
Rgds,

The name of the recovery software the IT guys used will be most helpful...
