    vista to m.e.

    ive just bought a new desktop,the trouble is ive got loads of hard ware thats been specially made for me.{no drivers}..everthing works on win m.e.  but not on vista...can i delete it and load m.e.  vista is loaded into pc..ive tried formating pc ...kind regards theted ???

      ok where did you get the machine. if from dell or somewhere like that then vista should run fine becuase the hardware is vista aproved.. how old is this machine??

        hi,its a acer desktop..can i take out vista and load win m.e.   or is there a way to run m.e. and vista on same pc...ive not got a clue about pc...all i know is the hardware wont work on vista but works ok on my old pc which is running win m.e...kind regard's theted ???{the pc is brand new}

          brand new acer... do you see this sticker anywhere on it??

          yes you can do a dual boot with me and vista.

          If it's a new Desktop why is there hardware involved that is optimised for ME ? ?

          Somehow i don't think we're getting all the data here...

          Vista can be wiped and a clean install of ME is no problem but i still don't quite get it...

          If you want to know what all your options are including a dual-boot setup we need more info.

            hi patio,imy pc is a acer aspire e380..dual-core amd athlon 64x2 processer...sorry for not getting back to u earlier...i hope i can dualboot with me as i'm not to familiar ith vista..thats the main reason for anting to d/b..my pc...the pc is brand new,nothing has been added...kind regards theted...is it easy to do a dual boot and is there a tut on how to do it ...if its complicated i'll get someone in to do the job as i'm new to pcs... ???

            The problem is that even if you do manage to pull this off, there may not be drivers, especially video, for ME.

            If you are uncomfortable with how Vista looks different than ME and there have been quite a few changes you could switch to Classic view...

            Also there is a good video on some of the changes in Vista that may help you navigate better...
