when I turn on my computer. the monitor says no signal detected?

I get 2 or 3 beeps when I start the computer instead of one beep.

what I did was take the sound card out of my other computer
and put it into my new computer.  after It was in...
I plugged computer power back on and turned
computer on. sound card didn't work...so I went
back and removed the sound card.

when turning computer on after the sound card removal....
the monitor screen now says signal not dectected?
it says this message everytime I turn computer on?

what do I need to do to fix this? I didn't remove any cables
inside...all I did was put the sound card in a slot...then remove it..

what could be the problem? if you could help would be great. thanx.

Perhaps when you were inserting the sound card you disturbed the display card slightly and now it is not making good contact in its slot. Press it GENTLY into its slot. There is a beep code signal which means "display not detected" - I expect this is what you hear. Is monitor connected properly?

do you have a onboard vid card and a addon card?? if so make sure you plug the monitor into the addon not the onboard cuz that will cause this problem
