Do you have a Windows CD or Recovery CD from the manufacturer in case you need to format the hard drive and reinstall Windows?

If you right click on My Computer, does the System Properties panel show the correct amount of memory for your computer?

Also how much free space is on that HDD ? ?

    Run disk cleanup and defrag.

StyleXP is a known resource hog as well...

Oh note, my cpu is going down. thats a good sign.
still lots of lag in my game. but i lowered memory to increase ram.
Computer running very fast. but all i care about is this game, thats the only reason i play on the computer...

Travel to crucial.com and enter your specs...it will tell you exactly what type of RAM that machine takes.

I'd suggest another stick of 512MG would smooth things out somewhat.

What did you do about StyleXP ? ?

Do you always have that laptop plugged into a wall outlet or do sometimes run on battery?  I believe many laptops will throttle down, i.e. run at slower processor speed, when on battery.  Don't know if that could be a factor here; just thought I'd mention it.
