    Does anybody know of a good program to open these? Preferably something free ;)

      You are not likely to find any freebies for IGES or IGS files. They are 2d/3d files intended for interoperability between CAD programs. Some programs that can open the files:

      Cimmetry Systems AutoVue
      Autodesk AutoCAD with IGES Import plug-in
      Informative Graphics ModelPress Publisher or Reader

        The OS is XP.

        Thanks for the heads up 2k. We just need a temporary solution. A trial version of something would suffice, as we are shopping for a program to do this.

          Best I can come up with at the moment. If you have AutoCad you can get the plug in for it.
