Try that first but if that doesn't work you might want to check if the both computers are in the same workgroup or domain.
press the winkey+pause break -> Computername tap -> to rename the computer or join a domain, click change
If both computers are on the same workgroup or domain and its still not working you might want to check you firewall.
You must enable printer and file sharing and network detection.
Let us know if it worked.

Within windows explorer, goto Tools-Folder Options
Under the View tab, the bottom box should read "Use simple file sharing (Recommended)". Make sure this is checked.

When you right click on the folder you want to share, click sharing and security. You can then share this folder over your network. Every computer should be in the same workgroup as Jonas mentioned. You should then be able to see the shared folders in the My Network Places

            This is a winkey:

This is the screen where you can change the workgroup:

Here you have to click on the change button.
            Then you get this screen:

There you have to click at the workgroup and give it a name then just click OK.
            You'll get a screen saying:"Welcome to the ... Workgroup."
I hope this has helped you.

Oh and to enable printer and file sharing go to control panel (make sure your in category view) -> security settings -> windows firewall ->

Do this on all the computers of your network and make sure they are in the same workgroup.
Then you can just right-click on a folder and share it.
If you still don't get something just ask.

No the computername must be different but the Workgroup must be the same.
Make sure you give the both computers a different name but put them in the same workgroup.
Then go to my netwok places.
Then click on "View workgroup computers"

Normaly then you would see both computers (they must be turned on!!)
If the computer is protected with a password then you will have to give the username ans password.
Did you change the firwall because I think that is the problem with the newest computer or do you have an other firwall?
If so plz tell me with so I can provide more info.
Or it can just be because the newest computer doesn't  share anything.
Sorry that it took so long to answer.
Oh PLZ let me know how it turned out.

                  Jonas ;)

omg im ready to give and be satisfied that im on the internet on both pc's. I did as u said and both comps r in the same workgroup and both comp have different names. (winky+pause/break) Attached is showing u that i am the admin. and also when i go to " view workgroup computers" i get that message.
My fire wall is set up with Norton. Norton asked if i wanted to use its firewall so i said yes.

Alright I hate Norton, Really hate it but I'll give it a try.
Did you enabled file and printer sharing in the Norton firewall?
Here is how you do it.

There you will have to look if you can enable file and printer sharing.
And network detection must be enabled to.
Are you able to find it?

If you did this you would be able to see both computers in the workgroup.
                            Do both computers have Norton?

                            What is your status?
Please ask me what I need to solve because I don't really understand.

                            Jonas ;)

If the computer are connected to the same router. you won't have to enable anything on the right.
But did you enable printer and file sharing? (both computers)
                                What router do you have?
