      Floppy disk fail (40),

Have read ....... that error usually refers to the floppy drive, not the hd.

Have you tried the HD on another machine as a slave to see if its ok ?

sharif ........ Is the error message refers to .......... (40) or (80) ...... this usually refers to a floppy issue.

If the error message refers to .... (10), (20) or (80) ..... this usually refers to a Hard Drive issue........

So then the error specifically refers to the hard drive ...is that correct ?

Reverse the connection to the floppy drive at the drive...
