Someone gave me this very old computer and I have been slowly upgrading it. New 80g hd, more ram (384 so far). It is a Gateway. I bought a new printer and tried to plug it into the USB port but on one of the ports it just starts beeping madly and on the other one it disables the mouse and keyboard and now I cannot get the wheel to work on the mouse. I tried going to device manage about the wheel and it doesn't even recognize that it has a wheel. I am really just learning about hardware and know that this is probably something easy. I need to be able to install my printer and have a working mouse. What do I need to do?
