slow computer suspected motherboard
« on: June 22, 2007, 04:20:28 AM »
As a few people already know i have had a new motherboard inserted into my computer , now i have checked with chris on the fourm and he sees no sigh of any virus's in my computer , my mother board is the asrock  p4vm890 , and i am expreinceing exterme lag , everything loads up very slow .

I have come to the conculsion it is 100% my motherboard that is causeing this lag as it is the newest hardware to my computer and before it was installed i had no troubles with running my computer.

Here is an overview of the spec of the board http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=P4VM890&s=

As for my computer i am running windows x-p home edition , sp2 , 256mb ram ,a intel celron 3  i know this board supports in celron 4 but i know it also supports what im using .

my 256mb ram has never been a issue with slowness maybe on extreme games but thats it , it has never asffected my overall performnce

Is there anything i can do , is it possbile that the driverss that game with the board in the box , are out of date or do i need to install new ones of the site.

Are you sure you don't have a slight overheating with the
CPU?

Clean hetsink and CPU and reseat.

When you changed motherboards are you sure you used the
 correct memory?

He took your video card and your RAM?!  You definitely need to report this guy.  I told you Calum was good with spotting these sorts of things!

EDIT:  Wait...that link says you have 265MB installed.  Isn't that what it should be?

This topic is resolved, the problem is that the RAM was replaced with PC2000 RAM when it had been PC2700, for sure.
Look here for the full story.
