Frustrating CPU issues
« on: June 26, 2007, 12:53:32 AM »

Hi There,
My computer is no fossil, i built it myself last summer with fairly strong parts, Athlon X2 4200+, 2GB mushkin  high performace ram, AM2 socket motherboard, 10,000 rpm HDD,  etc. when i am playing a game such as America's army, i notice that my motherboard starts to make a sound, a very annoying buzzing sound.... my guess is that its the CPU warning's that i enabled in my bios, when i check my cpu info in the task manager it says that it is at 99%. now i know Americas Army is a power hog but theres no way that with my system specs it should be that much of an issue. im really at my wits end of what to do, any help and ideas is greatly appreciated, also if any more info is needed just let me know

What are your temperatures when playing games and when idle?
When was the last time it was cleaned out?

the only background operations are some IM programs, and even when i shut them off the problem persists. is there a way i can check my cpu temp outside of bios without downloading something, if not then what download do you suggest

This app is called  Sandra  Lite X1  (11.35)

I installed this a few days ago and I just think this thing is the bomb*
run the cpu tests on it, I'm not 100% sure but,  she might help you out.... ;)

Go to AMD and check the specs on that chip's normal temp range........
that incredible hard drive is gonna produce some "heat"
could be the hd spinning so fast and not properly secured in the case?
Do you have good air flow in the case ?

those apps give you a general idea on the temps,  make sure your cpu fan is plugged in the mobo for a better reading (I'm guessing it is*)
