Sound Driver Not Recognized ( Intel 82801AA) / RESOLVED

Hi guys,
I had two devices, Intel 82801AA AC'97 Audio Controller and Intel 82801BA/BAM Audio Controller in the Sound Devices Section in Device Manager.
Suddenly, after a software installation , one device , the 82801 AA AC'97 had a yellow mark next to it.
I uninstalled the driver thinking that, the next time I scan for hardware changes, it would be recognized. But I was wrong.
The Driver Vanished completely.
I think I need a Realtek driver but I am not sure.

This system info was recorded only after I lost the driver.
So the 82801 AA Ac'97 is not mentioned here.

The BA/BAM Controller is working properly( when I right click ->  Properties , it says No Problem with device ).
When I try to download a driver and install it, it makes changes only to the BA/BAM Controller.

I browsed through the forum and found many similar threads. But I am not sure many people will have the same configuration. So, I thought I would start a separate post.

My question is : How can I relocate my old driver and make my system recognize it ?

Have you tried right-clicking on the driver with the exclamation point, clicking "Properties" selecting the Driver tab and rolling back the driver?

I checked the AC '97 in BIOS. It was enabled.

Actually, without thinking, I just uninstalled the driver , and it never came back.
So, I can't perform a roll-back operation for this driver. The other one works though, without any purpose.
I also lost the Volume Control action in the system tray, thought it is to be displayed at all times..

First of all, I don't know what driver to install, because , if I run a Google Search with the name of the device, there are so many other drivers that don't work.
And even if one driver works, the other controller is modified and there is no change in the sound position, and the original controller is still missing.

And there is no driver mentioned in the Windows Update section too..

Is your computer a custom or is it a Dell, Gateway, etc., etc?

If it is not custom...can you please give us the manufacturer and model number, please?

BTW...I don't give support through PMs...it's better to have it out in the open for all to see.

How does one find the Model Number ?
If it is achieved by physical viewing inside the computer, please tell me where to look..
And the PM was only a request .

Is your computer custom built?  Meaning:  Is it a Frankenstein...built from various parts from different manufacturers.

Is your computer stock?  Meaning:  Is it a Gateway computer Model???  Is it a Dell computer Model???

The model number is usually either on the front or back of the computer.  It may be on a label or it may be stamped into the case somewhere.

And It is one built from various parts of various manufacturers
And forgive me, I was unable to understand the 'computer stock'  you are talking about.
How can I find it..?

I downloaded and installed it , and re-booted.
A new program called AvRack has been installed and a new avRack icon appears on the system tray.
When I expand that icon, I get an option called Volume Control , and when I click it, It says No Active Mixer Devices Available.
And the Sound Category in the Device Manager appears like the image I have posted.
There is no sound Icon in the system tray and no sound plays when I run a Video or Audio File.
What should I do..?

Do you still have the exclamation point next to the driver in Device Manager?

No,
As I mentioned before
The exclamation mark was only for the driver that disappeared.
The other driver had no problem, and when I installed the file downloaded from the link above, the name had changed from Intel 82801BA/BAM to Realtek AC'97
Apart from that change, nothing else has happened.
The Sound and Audio devices from Control Panel still says No Audio Device.

Sorry If I am confusing things here.

Before my audio went out, I remember that the driver now in place was not the one mentioned in Sound and Audio Devices in Control Panel.
It was the 82801AA AC'97 controller that showed up in yellow in Device Manager and that was the one I uninstalled and that was the one that is missing till date.
The present controller was also mentioned in Device Manager , and it was recognized again after uninstallation, while the 82801 AA AC'97 was not.
If I can get it back , probably I'll get the sound running again.

This is indeed , my current motherboard.
Should I download from the Chipset links also.?
And When I run this software called HWINfo32,
It says my Sound Card is
Intel 82801BA/BAM ICH2 - AC'97 Audio Controller [B-5]
And my AC ' 97 Codec - Avance Logic / Realtek ALC200(P) / ALC201(A)

also mentions the Realtek ALC201A audio chip
So, hopefully, this is my motherboard.
But why is the ALC200(P) not mentioned.?

This should be the chipset for your board...remember...you verified this is, in fact, your motherboard.

I downloaded and installed the chipset  IAA.
I ran the file and an error : 'The Intel Application Accelerator Driver was not detected '  appeared.
What should I do now.?

You only have two choices at that site.

Try the first, now...then the second....for the chipset.

Well,
I installed the first one..
Then Ran the Second One ( as I couldn't uninstall the second one)
Same error appeared.
There is a Text file that came along with the first one after installation.
Do I have to post it..?

I did, and after I did, the Hard Driver ( Hard Drive only ) was detected again and it made me restart again.
Nothing happened afterward.Still no Sound.
No Sound Icon. No Volume Control.
I feel Like I have exhausted all my options.

Double-check your BIOS settings as well...

If anyone else wants to jump in here...it would be greatly appreciated...my brain is frazzled and I'm out of options.

I checked the settings again.
AC 97 Audio was enabled .
If I had the option of deleting ALL the things under the sound category in Device Manager, and reinstall them all without formatting my computer, I would be glad.
I have quite a lot of software installed and it would be painful to reinstall all of them .

I did a clean format and re-install of XP and the sound was running again .. !
