Blue screen with unknown code...
« on: July 05, 2007, 08:39:32 AM »
I recently uninstalled Google Toolbar and various other objects which i thought were of no relevance to the running of my Advent Laptop. I found that when I now turn on my Laptop it loads all the way to the Welcome page then the Desktop, but within 30 seconds no longer I get a blue screen and the following code.

0x0000008e (0xc0000005, 0xf369ec86, 0xf2c33cb0, 0x00000000)

This is the only reference to what can be wrong, and I have no idea what it means.

Any help would be absolutley amazing.

I am able to start up in Safe mode if that is any help? I have also started in Safe mode and been unsuccessfull in doing a system restore, it takes a long time and then states it was unable to restore.

Thanks
Paul

Could be a hardware conflict

Hey thanks, i read through the whole of that and divulged into a few other links but i am still curious as to what the code that was given means?

is there any way you can tell or is there a somewhere you know which could give me exactly what it means, i couldnt even find it after hours of looking on microsoft!!

Its mainly the 3 codes in the brackets that i am interested about as the ...008E code appears that it could be several things.

Thanks a lot for the site though :) thought i might have had it there  ;D

The hex numbers in brackets are likely to relate to memory locations and CPU registers and may well vary wildly from computer to computer. The first number is the significant one that will give the most information. Specifically,

0x0000008E: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

A kernel mode program generated an exception which the error handler didn’t catch. These are nearly always hardware compatibility issues.
