Each time I boot my computer, the "My Computer" folder opens on the desktop as part of the start up process. I've checked Start>All Programs>Startup, but nothing there looks abnormal. Anyone know how to stop this? Thanks.
Note: The computer in question is a Dell XP. We've been having the problem for about a year and a half and have owned the computer for about 2 years (as best as I can remember).

Try taking a look here...

It applies to My Documents, but I've heard or it working for My Computer as well.

Also...what protection do you have?

Thanks. I will ask my friend who's more skilled with computers than I am if he feels comfortable to change the registry.

We use AGV anti virus.

Thank you!

Be sure to let us know how it goes.  I wish the best of luck.

Oh, and just in case...you should update your AVG and then scan with it in Safe Mode.
