Hey scooter pickle , just a suggestion please dont think im picking on you because i truley aint , when you make a topic like this be sure to metion what you like about the game , and make sure people are also aware they should as well , otherwise you may lack something of a response from certain members , its best if you make threads like this look as good as possbile because topics like this dont die quickly which in a way is a very good thing as there is a load of members of this fourm and you will enjoy a great debate.

Im gunna start of buy saying my fave game ever is the the legand of zelda the ocrhna of time , the game is superb in every aspect of gaeming it has every genere of game play out there , romance , action . etc , the weapons are great as well as you take link through the forests and castle fighting evil along the way ....... when i play this i feel like im in the game and thats what a game should be about you should be in a trance and feel part of the charater your using

It is one of the best game around most people tend to stray away from games such as zelda as they feel it has a boring history feel to it but i can assure them and everyone who doubts young link , THIS GAME ROCKS AND YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON SOME WHAT.........i have completed every zelda game out to this present day.....

Thank you very much for the advice Richenstony. As you can see I'm new here to ComputerHope and I very much appreciate any advice like this. I guess I should state why I think Halflife 2 and WoW are the best. Well lets see. Half Life 2 I like because as you play it feels like every chapter of the game is a new game entirely. For instance you start off in the city in a kind of anti utopian society and you end up fighting zombie type things in a run down mining town. I think that they can make these kind of transitions work make this game great. WoW is also a great game but I don't believe I consider it the best because of the community and it is just a ton of fun. I spent hours playing when i first got it not to just lvl up and get the good gear but I really enjoying playing with the people on there. Of course you can find this community aspect in many games almost all online games so WoW probably doesnt do anything special for the community aspect, but it's just the game I play and that's why I choose it. Well then I'm excited to hear about your guys opinions on this keep the posts coming!

Is half-life 2 the 1st game where you could make actual changes to your surroundings.....im pretty sure i heard that somewhere ive never played it i would very much like 2 in the near not to distent future looks fun

and the grahpics look surreal..

Ummm Yeh the gravity gun changes your surroundings lol you can fling saw blades at the head crab guys and chop em in half lol and move stuff around you have to stack stuff and move it around to move on in vertain places

I've never played WoW, mainly because I just like the fact that with Guild Wars I don't have to pay every month. That's the only reason I haven't bought WoW. *sighs* why does money have to get in the way of everything?

I've never really played the Doom games, but I must say that the Doom movie was rediculously stupid.... (except for the first person shooter part at the end)

Hollywood makes most things stupid but I gotta agree with him with Doom being on of the best games ever. It is so awesome! I can't wait for Quake Wars!

I've played all the Doom games, the only problem I have is that it's easy to get lost.

My favorite game would be Battlefield 2, its so much fun playing online with about 50 around u shooting driving tanks, flying choppers and planes. Really exciting game, you guys should play the game.

Best game ever in general I'd have to say is GTA San Andreas. Best game on the PC? That's harder... I really enjoy Sims 2 and Americas Army, but I don't know that I'd say they were the best ever. In terms of hours spent in game, the best ever, IMO, is Elder Scrolls - Oblivion. To date I've spent over 220 hours playing that game, and aside from GTA, I don't think any other game could keep my interest that long.

Personally for me I would have to go with the Call of Duty series. I've spent many hours playing those games. The single player is put together really really well with a story line that keeps you in the game. Also I find it's historical accuracy is really good.

One thing I would like to point out about the origins of FPS games. I seen a lot of people credit Doom, which is true Doom did a lot. However I find people seem to forget about Wolfenstein. That game brought a lot of people to the FPS world.

Crysis the new upcoming game by Crytek ( EA as publisher )..
Crysis is a ultimate FPS game with cutting edge graphics.
In the game you can destroy mostly anything that looks destructable..
The setting of the game is on an island where a alien craft has landed/crashed and where you have to investigate the scene, although you're not the first there..

I think the game Richenstony was talking about may be Elder Scrolls IV - Oblivion? Its is very realistic and almost everything is movable, eg. Bump a table, stuff falls off and rolls away

, and almost everything can be done...stealing, resisting arrest, and the choices you make affect the game significantly, for instance, Kill a NPC person who is meant to give you the next part to the storyline, you must take an alternate one. Seeings as this
happens...My mate who owns this became a profession pillow stealer LOL.

I would have to say, however, there is a never ending list of best games as there are always bigger and better coming someday next week. Though I would have to side more with RPG's like Dungeon Siege and Half-Life 1/2,
as they always had you moving or enthralled in the story lines

Yes, you can vote for minesweeper, or maybe even Chess Titans if you have vista premium or better. Those are two of the best free games that Microsoft has coded into the windows installation.
