ok i switched slots with my video card and then i moved the ram into the alt slots also started up and got the 1 long beep followed by 2 short beeps, it says its Display adapter problem (MDA, CGA) on the web but i don't know what that means, i know the video card itself works in other computers.

Can you recall the name of your BIOS? I doubt that that is what the code is referring to because you probably don't have a "Standard Original IBM BIOS"...

Try all the sticks of RAM you have in the slot closest to the motherboard and note any POST error beep codes, one at a time.

The Asus Crosshair uses an Award bios according to Asus' homepage and 1 long and 2 short beeps should indicate a video error.
