can someone hack into computer?
« on: November 13, 2004, 08:03:28 PM »
Hi,
My question is on my computer under google search it shows what I looked up and then it shows some sites under google search that I didn't look up.  Under history under google search does that only show what has been looked at on my computer or can someone hack in and make it look like those sites were searched for on my computer I don't know if someone is looking them up on my computer or if someone can hack in and make it look that way. Again this is coming up under history under google search so can that be tampered with?

I very much doubt any kind of hacker would find it exciting to hack into your computer and make it look like you visited certain websites. Donot confuse hackers with your own mistakes. You most likely have spyware installed.

Install a virus scanner, spyware scanner and a firewall.

I sound really dumb sayin it, but MOST free software from the internet is kind of useless. Not all though! Bust most require you to unlock its features by paying, but it will only perform BASIC tasks in free mode. Norton SystemWorks 2005 and Norton Internet Security 2005 is a good idea to give a chance...  :)

Not only did flame avoid looking at the site, but he's also missed out on the Windows port of The GIMP, which was originally a Linux photo-editing app. It's just as powerful (if not moreso) than Photoshop, and is free.

He's also probably missed out on OpenOffice, which yet again is arguably so much better than MS Office, and approximately $399.99 cheaper (price according to MS online shop). In other words, also free.

Pretty much every app that's been ported from Linux is avaliable open-source.

Retail software usually requires to be activated in 30 days or requires a keycode at installation Never given that any thought...? Stop downloading Warez..
