Well now that I dumped 110mb, I am searching for another GOOD free webhost. Click here to see what I came up with. It is a search I did and the list matches my criteria. However, they all look good, but I want one of the best. I was recommended MB Hosting on another thread. Is that one good enough, or are there better ones on the list. You do not necessarily have to look at all the ones on the list, but maybe you will recognize a good one. Any suggestions are appreciated.

A good idea is to look at how active their forum is. If there aren't very many users on the forum, it's likely the company sponsoring the free hosting is either brand new or not very good. If so, it could be risky having them host your site. If they lose funding, your site could be lost.

MBHosting is a great service.
It offers cPanel, which features a TON of different web applications.

You do need to have ads on your page, but they dont have to be intrusive.

Everything on MBHosting is done manually. So, obtaining a subdomain from them does take a little bit of time. (Usually a max of two days.)

For your starter package, you don't get an incredible amount, but as you get more time online, you can upgrade (they have to know your not going to goof off, you know)

But, it works out okay. They have occasional downtime on their MySQL servers, but it doesn't last long.

You can host a server off of your computer. But if i needed free hosting id go with MB.

One last thing, for anyone considering 110mb for hosting.
They now have requirements to enable MySQL databases on their accounts - 50+ posts on their boards or a fee.
They keep doing this sort of thing, cutting features . . . I really don't recommend them any longer, they gave me only 11 days notice before pulling MySQL, which means I can no longer run a forum on my hosting.
I think that's pretty poor, which is why I am moving my site.

It's paid hosting, but I think it's worth it for the speed, reliability, and domain names, plus the features that free hosting doesn't have.
Obviously I'd prefer not to pay, but you don't always get what you want . . .

Exactly.
Example: darkbladeclan.com and .co.uk sound much better than darkblade.(webhost).com or something, and look much more professional.
Easier to remember and better all around.

.co.uk I dont understand those domains. It would be better to just have .uk instead of .co.uk
anyone care to explain?

Anyways, if you are looking for a paid provider, I use Hostgator. They have good instant online chat support, which is useful.

Well I currently don't have the funds for a paid host, so for now I will have to stick to having a free domain. I just have to choose which one...

I still suggest MBHosting, that combined with a www.co.nr domain works very well.

If you can get a static IP address from your isp and have good bandwidth, take a look at xampp. You can host all your files on your own computer. (Just don't let your computer turn off) Then pay $10/year for a domain name.
