Why won't my Mustek 1248 UB scanner work with my windows vista laptop....do I need to buy a new scanner?  I have been trying for months to get an answer for this....but no one seems to know!!!

    Well the scanner doesn't seem to officially support Vista.

    But you can try downloading and installing the Windows XP driver, this works for some products that doesn't got a Vista driver.
    You should be able to download the driver from here:

      there have been some hardware conflicts with vista with older printers and scanners. Our printer is about 6 months old and works with x.p but not vista

      Is your scanner using USB or LTP?
      Our LTP scanners are quite outdated, and incompatible with both Vista and XP. Though, some manufacturers still support LTP (not necessarily a good thing)
