DvD/CD Drive Does not detect Cds/DvDs
« on: July 31, 2007, 09:02:42 PM »
When I Place a CD inside my LG GSA-H54N (Multilayer DvD Burner) There is the Standard green LED bulb flashing, searching, but does not find anything. Auto Start does not start. When i go into My Computer and Double click on the Drive, It tells me there is nothing in, and to please place a CD in the drive.

This is Odd, seeing as how I was able to install all my software perfectly fine untill this a week or two ago.
Going into bios shows the drive is indeed there, I have updated the drivers, Disabled / Enabled the Drive, uninstalled it and Rebooted, thus reinstalling it automatically (And updated the drivers... whihca re up to date)

I have Norton 360, Compleatly up to date, Deep Scanned, and Found nothing. This Sounds more like a Virus then anything to me, prevening the detection of any CD or DvD.

OS: Windows Vista Ultimate 32k

Yes, At first it worked right, for a couple of weeks.
There is no one event I can think of in which would indicate why it stopped working.

Would there be a way, other then to unsintal the drive (But inculding) To compleatly wipe the drive from my computer's memory as thought it was never put in?

I'm thinking of putting another drive in, to seeing if that one works, as such I'll know weither it's the drive itself (And can clame inssurence...) Or A problem with then computer (And can bang my head on the desk...)

I don't want to reinstall Vista, So any other way would be nice :-/
