IE and Firefox will not connect.....opera does

For some reason my IE anf firefox will not connect to any web page.....I put opera on my system and it works without issues.....I can't stand opera tho. Ive reinstalled ie and firefox with no luck. It's driving me nuts any ideas?

I have the latest version of both ff and ie.
 Microsoft Windows XP Professional    Service Pack 2 
 AMD Athlon XP, 2083 MHz
 1280 MB (PC2700 DDR SDRAM)

How long has this been happening?
What protection do you have?
Have you tried System Restore?

I have kapersky internet security, and lavasoft adaware. scanned with both. no infections. its been happening about a month

Make sure kapersky internet security isn't blocking FF and IE from accessing the net.

Not sure if this might be an infection or not, but try posting a HijackThis log and we'll see if anything suspicious comes up.
