What kind of PSU should i buy
« on: August 01, 2007, 09:31:46 PM »
I have a dell dimension 4700 and in my other post i was told that my psu was the most likely cause to my computer's overheating. Anyone have a link to a decent one that would work on the computer?

That PSU would probably be fine...although not top of the line Zalman has a decent reputation for their product.

That's a lot of money for a 360W PSU though.
If you hear beans rattling....... that means I'm thinking.

Well i wouldn't recommend 25.00 PSU's to anybody...i've seen hundreds of far more expensive components ruined by a cheap PSU.

That's very true Patio. I'd have a hard time recommending cheap PSU's too. So if 360W is all you need yeah, get a nice quality one. (well always get a quality one :) but hopefully you know what I'm trying to say).

I'd be leery of that one...if it's not actually for a Dell as we had this conversation before you risk burning out expensive components...check the local repair shops in your area...i'd trust them alot further than ebay.

I found a brand new 400 watt psu for dell 4700 on ebay for $40 so we'll see how that works and if it doesnt work....i dont know what else could be the cause of my overheating problems....
