gameport help

I am using a usb to pc gameport converter for my joystick which is saitek x7 38 but the problem i am having is the computer does not see it  it tells me to go through device manager how to i fix this problem to get joystick going.

did the joystick come with an installation disk for the drivers?  if not you may be able to go download the driver from the joysticks website?   dont know, just trying to help some
